About Rolling Hills
Rolling Hills Primary School is located 35km east of the CBD in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Mooroolbark, providing a variety of passive and active recreational spaces.
The school has a current enrolment of 400 students with 33 teaching and non-teaching staff. The students are spread across 17 classrooms, with additional staff catering for Performing Arts, Visual Arts, PE, LOTE and Library. A strong Administration and Integration team complements all school programs. Extra support is consistently provided by our School Chaplain, Kids' Hope Mentors, Speech Pathologist and School Psychologist.
Separate facilities include a Computer Lab, separate Art rooms, basketball courts and a Gym that caters for Interschool sports, assemblies and general community activities. A new multi-purpose building is currently underway which will further add to these facilities.
Rolling Hills has a strong focus on student well-being which underpins all school programs. We follow the TRIBES process to develop a strong learning community, where all members are supported to become independent, life-long learners.
School History
Rolling Hills Primary School began its first year on 4th February, 1986, in temporary accommodation at Bimbadeen Heights Primary School, moving to our new buildings on 5th March 1986.
Eleven teaching and three ancillary staff, along with 134 children, representing 78 families from the communities of Bimbadeen Heights and Lilydale West, had the responsibility of continuing the work of the enthusiastic dedicated group who formed the original Planning Advisory Group.
While housed under the one-roof-line the school was originally constructed in a series of inter-connected units which included administration and staff areas, classrooms, wet areas, physical education centre, large canteen/catering area, art/craft room, music and drama-room areas.
The whole school community today, can rightly feel proud of its significant achievements in the policies, programs and facilities that place this school at the forefront of primary education in this area.
