School Fees

All Victorian primary schools find it necessary to place a levy on school families to supplement funds provided by the government. The fees at Rolling Hills Primary School provide for —

  •     curriculum needs

  •     each child’s stationery requirements

  •     each child’s text book (where appropriate)

  •     excursions and in-school performances

In addition individual children are charged for swimming, sexuality education, bus travel for senior sport and senior camps.

A separate document outlining details of the amount to be paid and our projected expenditure is issued by School Council in December each year. School fees are payable at the General Office.

Money at School

Any money forwarded to school needs to be presented to the class teacher and clearly labeled in a secure envelope with the child’s name, class, purpose and amount. Teachers receipt these amounts through their classroom cash books which are forwarded to the General Office by 9.30 am each day.

Canteen

The School canteen is operated under the authority of the School Council, whose policy it is to provide a satisfactory service for students by making available nutritious, health-giving foods, as free from artificial flavourings, colourings and preservatives as is possible.

The canteen is operated by voluntary helpers and consequently earns a modest profit to augment the school income. Any profit from the canteen is used to acquire necessary equipment for the canteen and school where necessary. As present, a lunch-service operates Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Over the counter sales are from 12.30pm to 1.00pm. Food lists and prices are distributed to all families when changes are made.

Lunches should be ordered on a brown paper bag, with the child’s name, class, and room number. Where possible, correct money would be appreciated. Lunches will be collected from the Canteen at 12.15 pm and taken to the class where they are eaten under supervision until 12.30pm.

On any emergency occasion, when it is necessary, a child’s basic lunch will be provided

and should be paid for on the following Canteen morning.

If you wish to help in the Canteen, please contact the office to arrange suitable times. Without volunteers to run the canteen the service could not be offered, so it is necessary to ask for assistance to keep the canteen functioning.

School Bank

A school banking scheme operates with the Commonwealth Bank. Children bring their bank books to school on Monday mornings. The collection of student bank deposits is provided by volunteer parents.
