German

The students of Rolling Hills Primary School experience their introduction to a second language through an approach that makes language enjoyable and develops confidence for continued learning. A great deal of the language is developed through interaction between the students and the teacher who models correct language forms for students to use. Lessons expose children to the vocabulary and structure of the language through listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Currently the children at Rolling Hills Primary School are studying German and we are investigating our options for the future.

Games, including those on CD ROM, are frequently used to promote the learning of vocabulary. Stimulating videos and audio tapes encourage an ear for pronunciation.  Language learning at Rolling Hills Primary School relies on real life experiences.
