Physical Education
Physical Education lessons deliver a program of sequential skill development, promoting fun, fitness and a positive attitude to participation. Our program is never interrupted as we have an indoor gymnasium. Other areas to facilitate physical activity include a large hard court area, adventure playground and fitness stations, and a large reserve. A five day intensive swimming program is available for children from prep to year six. This is a one hour session at an indoor heated pool conducted by fully qualified staff.
Senior students participate in an interschool sport competition, mixing with children from neighbouring schools in a range of winter and summer sports.
Special Physical Education Days
Local sports coaches, footballers, basketball players, cricketers and table tennis champions are among the visiting sports personalities organised to conduct sports clinics for various age levels. Children participate in special days such as Hoop Time (basketball) and table tennis at district sports days. Gymnastics is implemented at school by our Physical Education specialist.
Perceptual Motor Program
The PMP sessions rely on parent assistance
The Perceptual Motor Program aims to teach children perceptions and awareness of themselves and their word through movement / motor experiences. The children are involved in a variety of activities which develop skills in the auditory, visual, motor, social, language and memory area.
